This dress was made in the spirit of the Lord of the Rings Hobbit women, made for an opening of the props and costumes exhibition. The stomacher is hand-embroidered with DMC floss, the bodice itself is made with raw silk, coutil, and steel bones. It laces up the back and is constructed using 17th century corsetry techniques. The apron is simple calico, and the skirt is a linen cotton blend, dyed to match the rayon velvet ribbons in the bodice.
